If you’ve recently moved to a new neighborhood, you may be struggling to keep up with all the new people, places, and things. Finding a new go-to grocery store is hard enough—locating new parks, libraries, gyms, daycares, and other activities for yourselves or the kids can feel like a nearly insurmountable challenge.
While we can’t help you decide between HEB and Aldi’s, we do have some experience helping families put down roots in new neighborhoods—and a great daycare is often on the top of the list for parents.
With this in mind, we put together a list of the top five daycares near the Forest Creek neighborhood in Round Rock, Texas:
Blue Diamond Montessori Center
At Blue Diamond, located between Gattis School Road & SH-45, children are schooled using both RRISD and Montessori curriculums in order to provide a well-rounded educational experience. The Montessori method aims for the most complete development of the child at each stage using a high level of tactile experience and critical thinking. The school is open to children six weeks to twelve years old.
Karebear Childcare and Preschool
Looking for something smaller and more personal for younger children? Karebear Childcare is specifically designed to provide a “safe and happy place for children, where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace”. This home daycare program is licensed with TXDFPS but retains the cozy and friendly atmosphere of playing at a friend’s house.
Emerson Academy is an inclusive non-profit child development center that works to provide education for children of all abilities side-by-side. The classrooms and playgrounds are ADA compliant, and the curriculum features a wide range of enrichment that includes pet goats and pigs, music instruction, and a community garden. This program is open to children at all stages of development.
Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy
Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academies are a nationally recognized chain with a local touch. Every facility is family owned and operated, while the curriculum is fully accredited and shown to be a highly effective educational process. Classrooms include technology, STEAM-focused curriculum, and hands-on educational opportunities. The school is open to children from six weeks to twelve years old, with age-specific programs throughout.
Primrose School of Round Rock at Forest Creek
The Primrose School of Round Rock utilizes a unique Balanced Learning program that encourages both individual interests and teacher-directed learning. By balancing these two philosophies, this school endeavors to give children the best possible preparation for social and academic development. This program is open to children 3 weeks old to twelve years old.
Finding a great daycare can be a challenge, especially on top of all the other responsibilities of building a life in a new place, but we hope this list can provide a solid starting point.
